BASIC FUNCTION
Manages all Quality related functions for department. Lead Quality team to develop Kohler MarkDavid suppliers in the region, to ensure products made for Kohler MarkDavid meet or exceed applicable standards, ensure quality system is in place at suppliers and drive continuous improvement in quality program of existing suppliers.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
? Operational responsibility for Business Unit’s quality system and quality of output products.
? Responsible for the development and maintenance of the quality system policies and procedures of Kohler MarkDavid – including control plans, inspection procedures, capability studies etc. Drives key measurements for suppliers which are quantifiable and measurable and which strategic performance is measured against. Monitors results to make sure continuous improvements are maintained and benefits are sustainable over the long term
? Managing quality part of SQEs work, work closely with Procurement , project management and Customer service teams, communicate and provide technical support to solve quality issues
? Building effective and solid communication channels with Suppliers' top management to ensure quality, on-time project execution and on-time delivery.
? Responsible for monthly reporting regarding quality related performance, review customer complaints, determine the appropriated corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
? Works with buyers on Quality, Volume and/or Cost improvement initiatives at suppliers.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
Supervisory Relationships:
1. Direct report to the Associate Director of Asia Operations – Mark David
Organization Relationships:
1. Frequent collaborative associations with buyers, engineers and customer service team in both China and HPT.
2. Collaborative associations with both Op manager and Procurement manager
External Business Relationships:
1. Collaborative associations with suppliers on quality and execution.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 10 years of experience in quality assurance field, minimum 5 years within furniture industry, good experience on project and people management involving a broad range of technologies and processes. Familiar with PPAP, Six- Sigma. Fluent in both Chinese mandarin and English
Critical skills required:
Skilled in developing and managing contingency plans and risk factors with unaided assistance during the capture/creation of project scope. Capable of managing/leading multi-location projects marshalling adequate project resources.
Provides solution/alternatives to improvement ideas. Takes initiative to undertake improvement opportunities that are global in scope and complexity, setting strategies for process improvements that impact the work product of the department. Drives one company one process initiatives. Skilled in implementing continuous improvement opportunities within the supply base.
