Our Client is a well known and highly respected and well established yacht interior and furniture manufacturer, based in the UAE. They require an expert Paint Shop Manager for their already well organized and highly productive finishing rooms. The successful Candidate shall have full knowledge of, and be responsible for establishing and maintaining the following:
He shall have a full knowledge of all aspects of modern paints and lacquer systems and their applications, particularly as pertains to the Super Yacht marine environment.
He shall have full knowledge and experience in all aspects of furniture finishing, including, but not limited to the application of Polyesters, Urethanes, Enamels, Stains, Dyes and Polishing on all surfaces including but not limited to Solid Woods, Veneers and Metallic Finishes, particularly as they pertain to the Super Yacht marine environment.
He shall be solely responsible for the correct application of all paint systems and for the accurate recording of that application, including, but not limited to the stain mixtures, the paint system mixtures, heat and humidity control and recording.
He shall manage and instruct his workforce in the undertaking of their work to meet the timelines and quality as instructed by the Project Plans and our client's standards.
He shall have and maintain an intimate knowledge of the Project Scope (Contracted specification).
He shall have and maintain a full understanding of the Project Timeline, requesting and distributing information in a timely manner to ensure that full compliance to the Contract parameters is achieved.
He shall monitor the Manpower budget, planning his manpower loading in accordance with the Projects requirements.
He shall work with the Project Manager to prepare and submit for consideration all material specifications in accordance with Class and Classification Society requirements, with special consideration to Structural and Fire and Safety directives.
He shall monitor the Project Scope, ensuring that any on-site Variation Request is reported and managed in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.
He shall manage the manufacture of the Contracted items, ensuring that departmental and end-product quality control is maintained to our Client's high standards.
He shall oversee any on-site production and installation, including the protection of installed items from damage.
He shall be responsible for the maintenance and recording his Project Correspondence.
He shall report and record all of the above items to the Project Manager on a monthly basis and additionally as required.
He shall be responsible for site Health and Safety in compliance with the Company Standard ISO 9002.
He shall at all times present himself, in the best light as a representative of our Client and act in the Company's best interest
Debrief at critical phases or benchmarks, distribute and implement improvements in future designs or continuing phases.
Consistently keep abreast of market trends and construction methods.
Create and improve on processes.
Input feedback relating to Company policy & procedure, to continuously seek excellence by improving, refining & modifying procedures.
