Title: Quality Control Manager
Reports to: The Company is establishing a supply chain control division in Asia and the organizational structure is not yet in place.
Based at: Shanghai, China (potentially in Dongguang or Guangzhou – discussion with candidate)
Job purpose:
To ensure a high standard product quality of all furniture shipped from China to the customers in Europe
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. Develop and implement quality management strategy and plans, including resource, systems, timescales, financials, to support, contribute to, and integrate within, the organization’s annual business plan and long term strategy
2. Develop and maintain systems to establish standards relating to activities and products
3. Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established standards
4. Perform inspections in and around the area of Shanghai, Hangzhou & Ningbo
5. Monitor performance according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels
6. Report as necessary on changes in standards (internally and externally initiated) and on performance against standards
7. Manage inspectors according to company standards (appraisals, discipline, training, development, etc)
8. Advise about alternative suppliers and supply opportunities
9. Liaise with customers and suppliers where necessary
10. Contribute to executive policy and strategy
Background
1. Chinese national (Mandarin speaking)
2. Detailed technical knowledge of wooden furniture (the company is specialized in wooden furniture
3. At least 5 years experience in implementing quality control systems and leading inspectors in China
4. Very good command of English is a must
5. Probably between 30 and 40 years old
Other issues
1. Extensive traveling in and around China shall be expected
2. If the candidate is successful the company offers an attractive bonus package for future implementation
3. The employment will be based on Chinese rules and regulations
4. Starting date ASAP
5. Interviews may take place in Shanghai, but Dongguan or Hong Kong may also be an option
