Job Title: Head of Quality Management & Product Integrity
Based at: Gaoming, Foshan, China
Responsible to: General Manager - China Operation & Sourcing
Purpose of Role: To create a World Class Quality Mgt organisation in Operations
Functional Responsibilities - Quality, Testing across the Group
* Development of an annual quality plan, adequately capturing the HALO Group strategies and BU/ Regional strategies and annual plans, at least capturing:
* A Total Quality Mgt scope: continuous improvement
* QC/ QA
* Key metrics & reporting system
* Ongoing process improvement: quality, supplier mgt
* Critical steps to protect product integrity
* Manage the Quality-system: understand quality requirements, have solid supplier selection in line with requirements, in-process checks, outgoing inspection, closed loop learning approach and customer oriented complaint handling.
* Responsible to ensure that ALL required product/ quality standards are being met, ongoing & appropriate testing & quality checks are being organised and done and no market liability claims will occur and/ or recalls are required
* Manage the quality, testing team such that we create a winning team supporting our ambition to move from Good to Great: service & customer oriented, can-do mentality, leading to win & improve. Maximize loyalty of Key Position Holders & reduce attrition
* Potentially: Responsible for Sustainability Management. Ensure no violation of legal, ethical, environmental or other moral matters occur.
* Potentially: Manage a professional, fast Engineering team that works in an optimized way with PD/ Factories/ Quality
* Potentially: managing the Greenfield set-up in ZhongLi-Gao Ming
Specific Responsibilities - Site
* Manage the testing facilities and the testing team
Specific Responsibilities - Quality
* Basic factory mgt: flow mgt, LEAN, ISO-9000 procedures/ SOP's
* Quality improvement programs with factories (basic TQM approaches)
* Negotiate with factories to settle claims ie., quality complaints. Commercial responsibility to communicate quality corrective actions to customers
* Compliance mgt
* New supplier/ factory release procedures & improvement planning
* Reporting: With other departments design & implement efficient customer issue/ NCR reporting system
* Continuous dialogue with marketing / Product engineering on customer’s experience of products
Required Experience
* Factory management knowledge and experience including Social & Ethical Compliance, Health & Safety, Chinese CIQ and Customer Compliance
* Knowledge and experience with Lead times in relation to customer impact, production efficiencies and LEAN program management
* Operations experience; order intake and quality process (how to handle customer issues /complaints, replacement issues are addressed and preventative actions activated), how new product flows into manufacturing and mass production
* Furnishings, lighting and/or leather knowledge advantageous
* Rounded, basic supply chain and manufacturing experience
* Leadership & Team-orientation; able to create reciprocal trust, coach, collaborate and initiate collaboration, drive and support team dvpt
* Proven success record in managing organisations in China
* Bachelor’s degree or MBA
* Minimum 7-9 years of managerial experience
* Experience in an international company and working with expats highly beneficial
* Outstanding written and spoken English and excellent Chinese
